How do I make my first clip?#

1. Sign in to the iPhone app, or go to app.fastclip.it on a phone or computer.
2. Import a video. Paste a YouTube link or an X post link, or upload a video file. On iPhone, you can also share a link or a video to FastClip from another app.
3. Wait for the transcript. FastClip turns the speech into text with the time of each word.
4. Pick a moment. Select the words that you want to keep in the transcript.
5. Create a draft clip. FastClip adds captions and writes a title and a description. You can edit all of them.
6. Finish the clip. FastClip renders the final video.
7. Post the clip to a connected X or Instagram account, or download it.

On iPhone, you can mark a moment while a video plays. Say “Save this moment in FastClip” to Siri. FastClip saves a bookmark at that point.

Before your first import, FastClip asks you to confirm two things. First, that you own the video or have permission to use it. Second, that FastClip can send it to the providers that transcribe it and write the text. See What can I import? and How does FastClip use my data?

How do I sign in?#

• Sign in with Apple works in the iPhone app. You can share your email or hide it. If you hide it, Apple gives FastClip a private relay address that forwards email to you.
• Google works in the iPhone app, on mobile web and on desktop web.
• Email and password works only for accounts that the FastClip team set up with a password. You cannot create an account with a password.

Use the same sign-in method each time. A different method can open a different, empty account. For example, Sign in with Apple with a hidden email does not match your Google account.

To sign out, open Settings and tap Sign out.

How do I connect or disconnect X and Instagram?#

Connect an account to post clips to it directly from FastClip:

1. Open Settings.
2. In Social accounts, tap Add social account.
3. Tap Connect X or Connect Instagram.
4. Sign in to that account and allow access.

Instagram lets apps post only to professional accounts (Creator or Business). Switch your account type in the Instagram app first if you need to.

To disconnect, open Settings. Next to the account, tap the unlink button, then tap it again to confirm. FastClip can then no longer post to that account. You can also remove FastClip in the connected apps settings of X or Instagram.

What does the free plan include?#

The free plan gives you these totals. They do not renew each month.

• 3 YouTube imports
• 3 X imports
• 10 draft clips
• 5 finished clips
• 1 direct post to X and 1 direct post to Instagram

Daily limits also apply: 5 draft clips and 2 finished clips per day.

How do I delete my account?#

You can delete your account in the iPhone app or on the web. Deletion is permanent. You cannot undo it.

1. Sign in to FastClip.
2. Open Settings.
3. Scroll to the Account section.
4. Tap Delete account, then confirm.

Deleting the iPhone app from your phone does not delete your account.

What we delete

• Your account and all its sign-in sessions.
• Your sources, draft clips, finished clips and templates.
• The access tokens for the X and Instagram accounts you connected.
• Your device reports and your support chat.
• Stored media that only your account uses.
• An active paid subscription. We cancel it.

Clips that you already posted to X or Instagram stay on those platforms. Delete them there.

What we keep

• Your email address on a suppression list, so we never email you again.
• Limited billing records that tax and accounting law requires us to keep. Stripe, our payment processor, keeps its own records.
• Server logs, until they expire on their normal schedule.
• Copies of support messages and activity alerts that already reached the FastClip team through Telegram.

If you cannot sign in

Email [email protected] from the email address of your FastClip account and ask us to delete it. If you used Sign in with Apple and hid your email, tell us your private relay address. You can find it in your Apple Account settings, under Sign in with Apple.

How does FastClip use my data?#

FastClip uses your data to run the service. We do not sell your personal information.

To make clips, FastClip sends the audio of your videos to Deepgram for transcription. It sends transcripts and other text to OpenAI and Anthropic to write titles, captions and descriptions. These providers process the data on our behalf to provide the service. The app asks for your agreement before your first import.

What can I import?#

FastClip imports YouTube links, X post links and video files.

Import only videos that you own or have permission to use. For example: your own podcast, a show that hired you, or a clipping program in which the creator lets clippers use the footage. A public video does not give you that permission.

You are responsible for what you import and post. When a rights holder sends us a valid notice, we remove the content. To report content, email [email protected].

What do I need to use FastClip?#

• iPhone: iOS 16.4 or later.
• Web: a modern browser, such as Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox, on a phone or a computer. Go to app.fastclip.it.
• Internet connection: you need one to import, make and post clips.
