AUDIOGRAM MAKER

Audiogram maker: turn podcast audio into a captioned video clip

Upload an audio file and pick the moment you want to share. FastClip turns it into a vertical video with an animated waveform and word-timed captions.

Free, no credit card, no watermark. Works in mobile and desktop browsers and in the iPhone app (TestFlight).

How to turn audio into a video

  1. 1. Upload the audio

Open FastClip and upload a podcast episode, an audiobook or a voice memo: MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC and other formats, several files at once or in a ZIP. FastClip prepares the audio; you can leave and come back.

  2. 2. Pick the moment

Listen and choose the part you want. Select the exact words in the transcript, or set the start and end on the timeline. FastClip keeps the audio in your library, so you can cut more clips from it later.

  3. 3. Choose the look

In Settings, choose one of 23 waveform styles and a caption style. A live preview shows the waveform and the captions together.

  4. 4. Finish and download

FastClip makes a vertical 9:16 video with the moving waveform and burned-in captions. Download the MP4 and post it to YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok or LinkedIn.

What you get

  • A vertical video. An MP4 at 1080 × 1920 pixels and 30 frames per second, the shape of Shorts, Reels and TikTok.
  • An animated waveform. 23 styles, among them bars, lines, dots, rings and ribbons. The waveform moves with the sound of your clip.
  • Word-timed captions. Burned into the picture. Use one of 6 presets, or set the size, position, colors, background, animation and words per line yourself.
  • The sound of your clip. AAC audio at 48 kHz.
  • No FastClip watermark. On the free plan too. You can add your own logo in Settings.

Several files or a ZIP become one source in your library, in play order: by track number when every file has one, otherwise by file name. Each file is a part, and chapters inside a file are kept.

What FastClip does not do

  • No batch of automatic clips. FastClip does not cut an episode into 20 clips and does not score them. You choose the moment, and you get that clip.
  • No audio-only export. The result is a video (MP4) with its audio. FastClip does not export MP3 or other audio-only files.
  • No DRM removal. FastClip does not open copy-protected audiobooks. Upload a copy without DRM that you own.

Is the episode on YouTube with a picture? Podcast to Shorts starts from its link and crops the picture to 9:16. The podcast clipping guide covers what clipping campaigns expect and pay. Our guides on hooks and clip length help you decide where a clip starts and ends.

Questions

Is the audiogram maker free, and is there a watermark?

FastClip is free with no credit card and no watermark: 100 finished clips and 50 imports in total, and up to 30 finished clips a day. Uploads and YouTube links share those 50 imports. One audio upload counts as one import, whatever the number of files.

Which audio formats can I upload?

MP3, M4A, M4B, AAC, WAV, FLAC, OGG, Opus, AIFF and WMA, or a ZIP of such files. One file can be up to 5 GB. Copy-protected files (Audible AA, AAX and AAXC, iTunes M4P) are not accepted.

Can I upload a whole audiobook with many files?

Yes. Choose up to 500 files at once; ZIP archives of audio files work too. One upload can hold up to 6 GB and 48 hours of audio. They become one source in play order: by track number when every file has one, otherwise by file name. Each file is a part of that source.

How long can the audio and the clip be?

One upload can hold up to 48 hours of audio. The clip is the part you pick. For YouTube Shorts, keep it within three minutes: that is YouTube’s limit for a Short.

How accurate are the captions, and which languages work?

Captions come from automatic speech recognition and are timed word by word. FastClip detects the language spoken and writes the captions in that language. Clear speech works best; names, rare words and speech over music can come out wrong, so check the preview before you finish the clip.

Does the video show my cover art?

Not in the finished clip. The clip shows the waveform and the captions, and your own logo if you add one in Settings. FastClip does read the cover art inside an audio file, or an image inside a ZIP, and shows it with the audio in the app.

Can I export audio only, for example an MP3?

No. FastClip exports video with its audio as MP4. It does not export audio-only files.

Can I upload any audio I have?

Upload audio that you made or have permission to use. For someone else’s podcast or audiobook, get permission before you post a clip. FastClip does not open copy-protected files and does not remove DRM.
