YouTube clip link maker: share a moment with a start and an end

YouTube no longer makes new Clips, and Share at Timestamp sets only a start. Paste a YouTube link and two times to get a link that starts at your moment and an embed that stops at your end. It runs in your browser, with no sign-in.

Write a time as 90, 1:30, 1:02:03 or 1h2m3s.

Paste a YouTube link above. The links appear here as you type.

What changed at YouTube

On April 16, 2026, YouTube announced that Share at Timestamp replaces the Clips feature. You can no longer make a new Clip, and the end time and the custom description are gone from sharing. YouTube says existing Clips “will still be viewable”. Share at Timestamp makes a link to the whole video that starts at one second. The full story, with sources: YouTube Clips is gone: what replaced it.

Is YouTube Clips gone?

For new Clips, yes. On April 16, 2026, YouTube announced that Share at Timestamp replaces the Clips feature. On October 8, 2026, we found no Clip button under videos on youtube.com. YouTube says existing Clips “will still be viewable”; it has not said for how long.

Can a YouTube link have an end time?

No. A watch link carries only a start time (t=). YouTube says the end time is no longer available when you share. An embed link can stop: YouTube’s embedded player takes a start and an end in seconds.

What does the end parameter of a YouTube embed do?

It tells the embedded player when to stop, in seconds from the beginning of the video, not from the start time. For 2:30 to 3:10 the link is youtube.com/embed/VIDEO_ID?start=150&end=190. It works only where the video can be embedded: the owner can turn embedding off, and most sites cannot play age-restricted videos.

How do I get a video file of just this part?

A link always points to the creator’s full video. For a file, cut the part into its own video. FastClip does this from the YouTube link: you set the start and the end, it adds word-timed captions, and you download an MP4. A clip can be up to five minutes long. Only reuse videos you own or have permission to reuse.

Is the tool free, and does it store my link?

It is free, with no sign-in. Your browser builds the links: the page sends your link and times to no server, FastClip’s included, and stores nothing. The site’s analytics counts page visits and which buttons are pressed, never the link or the times. YouTube gets a request only when you press “Show preview” or open a link. “Open in FastClip” sends the video link to the FastClip app, which imports it.

Keep the moment as its own video

FastClip imports a YouTube, X or Drive video, opens it on its best moment, burns in captions and exports 9:16. Free, no credit card. More in the YouTube clip maker and the other free tools.
