SERMON CLIPS
Turn a sermon into short clips, free and without a watermark
Paste the link to the recorded service or upload the file. Pick the passage worth sharing. FastClip crops it to vertical 9:16 while following the speaker, and burns in captions.
Free, no credit card, no watermark. Works in mobile and desktop browsers.
How to turn a sermon into short clips
1. Add the recording
Paste the YouTube link of the recorded service, or upload the video file (up to 5 GB). FastClip works on recordings. It does not clip a live stream while it runs.
2. Pick the passage
Read the transcript and find a passage that makes sense on its own: one idea, with the verse or story it needs. Start on the first sentence of the thought. Select the exact words, or set the start and end on the timeline.
3. Make it vertical
Turn on the full-screen 9:16 crop. It can follow the speaker’s face automatically. If the speaker walks across the stage, move the frame with keyframes.
4. Caption it and publish
Word-timed captions are burned in, in the language spoken. Check names and verse references. Download the MP4, or post it to Instagram or X from FastClip.
If a YouTube link does not work
YouTube refuses many downloads from FastClip’s servers, so a pasted YouTube link can fail. If it does, upload the file instead. Uploads do not depend on YouTube.
Keep worship music out of the clip
A song can bring a copyright claim. YouTube’s help page on three-minute Shorts describes what happens to a Short longer than one minute with an active Content ID claim. The two language versions of that page differ (YouTube Help, both read October 14, 2026):
- US English version: a Short over one minute with an active claim of any type is blocked worldwide and earns nothing.
- British English version: from September 24, 2026, new claimed Shorts over one minute “will no longer be automatically blocked and may remain playable”.
- Under one minute: the page lists no change for Shorts under one minute.
In practice: clip the spoken part, not the song. If a song is in the clip, keep the Short under one minute. Our Content ID guide follows the change.
Length rules for sermon clips
From YouTube Help, read on October 14, 2026: upload Shorts. From Instagram Help, read on October 2, 2026: Recommendations on Instagram.
- YouTube Shorts: up to three minutes. A Short is a square or vertical video of up to three minutes.
- Instagram: three minutes for reach. Instagram says “Reels over 3 minutes won’t be recommended to new audiences”.
- Originality. Instagram may not recommend content “largely repurposed from another source with only minor, immaterial edits”. A clip of your own church’s sermon is your own content.
In practice: one idea in 30 to 90 seconds fits every app. If you clip another church’s speaker, ask for permission first.
Which passage to use
Pick a passage that works for someone who has never been in your church: a clear question, a story with an ending, or a plain statement of one idea. Cut the introduction, and end on the last sentence that carries the point. Our guides on hooks and clip length go deeper.
Questions
Is it free for churches?
FastClip is free for everyone, with no credit card and no watermark: 100 finished clips and 50 YouTube or upload imports in total.
Does it work on a live stream?
No. FastClip clips recordings. When the service has ended and the recording is on YouTube, paste its link, or upload the file.
Will it find the passages for me?
It suggests moments; you decide. For a YouTube recording FastClip first uses the “Most replayed” data. Otherwise AI picks moments from the transcript. FastClip does not cut a batch of clips for you.
Where can I post the clips?
FastClip posts directly to Instagram and X, one post each on the free plan. For YouTube Shorts and TikTok, download the MP4 and upload it yourself.
Can it caption in other languages?
Captions follow the language spoken in the clip. The app itself is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Indonesian, German, French and Russian.
Can I clip another church’s sermons?
Only with permission. Clip only recordings you own or are allowed to use.
What if my YouTube link does not import?
YouTube refuses many downloads from FastClip’s servers. Upload the recording instead. Uploads do not depend on YouTube.

No surprises
- Free to start, no credit card. The free plan gives you 100 finished clips in total and up to 30 finished clips a day.
- A small "Made with FastClip" credit is on by default. Switch it off in Settings, on the free plan too. Your own logo appears only if you add it.
- Failures do not count. When an import, a cut or a render fails, it goes back to your limits.
- The file is yours. Download the MP4 and post it wherever you like.
